A collaboration between Socorro Independent School District, El Paso Community College and the Texas High School Project of the Communities Foundation of Texas.
Background
 |
In August of 2005 Socorro Independent School District and the El Paso Community College jointly created Mission Early College High School (MECHS). This unique school is founded on the belief that many young people are ready and eager to do serious college work. It enables highly motivated students to move in four years from the ninth grade through the first two years of college, earning the associate of arts (A.A.) degree. Students from many different backgrounds who have a strong record of excellence and diverse interests benefit from MECHS curriculum. |
Mission Statement: Mission Early College High School will promote a highly rigorous academic environment to ensure that students earn a high school diploma, as well as an Associate of Arts degree from El Paso Community College.
Mission ECHS is located on one of El Paso Community College campuses in Mission, Texas. |

- Students can pursue any academic degree that is offered at El Paso Community College.
- Located on the Mission Del Paso campus of El Paso Community College
- Saves money and time by integrating high school and college level work.
- First graduating class will make history with double degrees in 2010.
- Twenty-three junior-level students will complete their Associate's Degree in May 2009 and will spend their senior year in high school also as a junior at University of Texas at El Paso!
