The Mission: The mission of the STEM Academy is to engage in the application of knowledge of scientists, mathematicians, engineers, designers, international scholars and writers. Students are our focus and success an expectation for all.
The Technology: Teachers and students will have 21st century technology available on demand to support their learning. The rigorous environment created by students and teachers will provide a working model for others to emulate.
Vision: The T-STEM Academy is a model program of innovative mathematics and science instruction. The curriculum immerses students in hands-on, problem-based learning where they will create, invent, and solve challenging real-world problems in science and mathematics while learning about engineering and powerful technological tools in the process.
Overview: The S.T.E.M. Academy is a small school-within-a-school of 100 students in each grade level, with the program growing to grades 6-12 over four years on each of the following campuses:
| Lee Campus 1400 Jackson-Keller San Antonio, TX 78213 | Nimitz Campus 5426 Blanco Road San Antonio, TX 78216 (210) 442-0450 |
Admission is open to all students, with a random lottery used as a selection method. 70% of the students are drawn from the Lee community and 30% drawn from the rest of NEISD. The curricular program will prepare students to graduate on the Distinguished Achievement Program, and the focus will be for students to graduate with 12 to 30 college credits. A system of instructional support and mentoring allows motivated students to have access to the most challenging learning opportunities while assuring that success is within their reach. A variety of electives, extracurricular and enrichment activities are available through the host campuses of Nimitz and Lee.

Each student is issued a laptop computer for their personal use at school.
